Managing DirectorMichelle has spent the last 15 years specialising in the integration of ICT into teaching and learning, first as Managing Director of Learnthings Africa and now as Managing Director of Think Ahead.Michelle has been closely involved in the integration of digital curriculum into schools, teacher training, consultation on ICT policy and deployment within the education sector.Through Michelle’s experience – she realised there was a huge need for more focused creative, project based learning. Michelle started Think Ahead in 2009 with this mission in mind.Michelle’s key focus is working with partners in public and private sector to develop educational technology solutions that serve in the best interest of teachers and learners. She is invited to present at international conferences on trends in educational technology.
iSchoolAfrica Programme Manager
Nolundi Walaza is a recipient of the SAFe Think Scholarship from the French Embassy in South Africa and it is through this that she studied towards a Master’s degree at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, in France.She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) majoring in Media Studies and Industrial Sociology.Her Honours degree is in Media Studies – both completed at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She studied topics such as Governance; Globalisaton; African Media Systems; Media and Politics and Media Economics. Her research interests are in the African political-economy; the role of media in society; representations and identity; social justice; international development; governance; youth politics; immigration and globalisation.She has recently been working as a consultant in Corporate Social Investment for a variety of clients across industries, providing CSI strategy, impact assessments and Monitoring and Evaluation.Nolundi is responsible for the overall management of one of Think Ahead’s key programmes, iSchoolAfrica iPad Learning Programme.
Laetitia de Jager
iSchoolAfrica Facilitation Manager
Laetitia de Jager has a B.Sc Physical Science Degree with a Diploma in Education (University of Johannesburg). Laetitia has 10 years teaching experience in Mathematics and Physical Science in public and private schools.Laetitia is responsible for the facilitation of one of Think Ahead’s key programmes, iSchoolAfrica iPad Learning Programme.She leads the educational implementation of this ICT integration initiative, that deploys Apple products in rural and township schools across the country, empowering teachers and learners to become digitally literate by using cutting edge technology.She joined iSchoolAfrica in 2011, driving exciting change in the rural and township education landscape of South Africa.She manages a team of iSchoolAfrica facilitators across the country.
Business Development Consultant KZNSam is based in KZN. She has business and computer practice diplomas. Her initial background in Public Relations & Communications, has ensured her expertise in client care, needs analysis, project management and strategic planning. Sam has also spent time in the e-publishing sector – and therefore understands the intricacies and implications of a school “going digital “. Sam has vast experience in supporting schools in their ICT rollouts.
Her role at Think Ahead is to ensure our KZN partner schools have someone on hand to support their ICT integration planning, deployment and evaluation.
